Mobility and lifestyles expanded by Honda with mobile batteries

It was 2017. Yoshihiro Nakajima, Honda Mobile PowerPack (hereafter referred to as Mobile PowerPack) business manager, traveled around Asia. While the economy is developing, India and Indonesia are suffering from serious air pollution caused by exhaust gas, and Romblon Island in the Philippines, where transportation of fuel for diesel power generation costs a lot because it is a remote island.

In just two years, Nakajima visited so many places that his passport was filled with stamps.

On the other hand, in Japan, all efforts were devoted to the research and development of mobile power packs. Kazuyuki Iwata, who oversees all life creation energy products at the research institute, strives to create a recycling-oriented society with zero environmental impact.

A mobile power pack researched and developed by Honda, and demonstration experiments conducted in three countries: India, Indonesia, and the Philippines. And a battery sharing service in India starting in 2022. We will approach Honda's new challenge to achieve carbon neutrality.

Joined Honda R&D in 1984. He has been involved in research on continuously variable transmissions for motorcycles for a long time, and after working in product planning and management planning, he was transferred to the Smart Community Planning Office in October 2014. From the following year, we started commercialization of mobile batteries.
